Biographical Information

Neil Avent made the all-tournament team for the 1989 Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament.

Avent was an assistant coach at Wake Forest in 1990 and assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at UNC Greensboro from 1991-2003. He was then assistant Athletic Director at UNCG for 2 years. Avent then scouted for the Oakland Athletics, signing Sean Doolittle, Andrew Carignan, Parker Dunshee, Chad Pinder and John Wooten as well as fellow UNC Greensboro alumnus Jermaine Mitchell.
