Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Mike Stefanski was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 40th round of the 1991 amateur draft and made his pro debut that year with the AZL Brewers, leading the Arizona League with a .364 batting average. In 1994, he hit .263 with 8 homers for the El Paso Diablos and was named a Texas League All-Star.

Following the 1995 season, Stefanski was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals for Marc Ronan. After three season in the Cards system, he signed with the Cincinnati Reds organization and played there for one year before rejoining the Cardinals chain. He again played in the Reds organization in 2002 and 2003 and retired prior to the 2004 season.

Stefanski has been the Reds bullpen catcher since retiring as a player. In 2014, his title was changed to catching coach.
