Biographical Information[edit]

Mike Johnston was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 20th round of the 1998 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Craig Kornfeld and made his pro debut that summer.

Johnston wasn't the only member of the Pirates to make his big league debut on April 7, 2004 as Jose Castillo made his debut in the same game.

Johnston joined Jim Eisenreich as the only players known to have made the major leagues in spite of dealing with Tourette's Syndrome.
