Biographical Information[edit]

Max Hill has played in the Elitserien and for the Swedish national team.

Hill hit .235/.435/.333 in the 2015 European Junior Championship but fielded .792 with 5 errors in 6 games. [1] He debuted in the Elitserien, going 1 for 17 with 3 walks at age 15. [2] He did much better in 2016, going 4-3 with a 3.55 ERA for the Stockholm Monarchs while batting .270/.392/.305. He was 5th in the league in ERA (between Emil Sahlin and Kent Karlsson, 22 years his senior) and 5th in wins.

He made his debut for the Swedish national team in the 2016 European Championship and was their youngest player. In fact, only one player in the 2016 Euros was younger, Drew Janssen. He got into two games. He pinch-ran for Adam Sorgi in the 11th inning of a 9-6 win over Great Britain. Versus the Netherlands, the tournament champs, he started in left field and hit 9th. He grounded out twice against Jim Ploeger and struck out facing Kevin Kelly while handling two putouts in the field. [3]

Max fell to 1-4, 6.47 for the 2017 Monarchs while producing at a .235/.395/.294 clip. He was 5th in the league in walk rate drawn, between Joel Johnson and Per Sjörs. In '18, he hit .357/.423/.428 and had a 2-1, 2.61 record. Had he qualified, he would have tied for 4th in ERA. He came to the US for college ball in 2018-2019, beginning his career 1 for 9 with 2 walks. [4]
