Mark Conner

Mark Conner has been a coach and scout.
A catcher in college, Conner played in the NAIA World Series three times. He had stints as an assistant coach at Cumberland (2000-2003), Indian Hills Community College (2004) and USC Aiken (2005-2009). He then joined the San Diego Padres as a scout for Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. In his first season, 2010, he was named the Padres organizational Scout of the Year. Among those he signed was 4th-rounder Chris Bisson. He later signed Brandon Alger and Trevor Gott.
After the 2014 season, he was named scouting director of the Padres, replacing Billy Gasparino.
