Biographical Information[edit]

The Los Angeles Dodgers drafted Malcolm Holland out of high school in the 33rd round of the 2011 amateur draft. He turned down a football scholarship offer from Boise State University to focus on baseball. Holland played four seasons in the Dodgers chain, hitting .211/.342/.245. The 2B/CF was noted for his speed and had 118 steals in 155 tries. He led the 2012 Pioneer League with 44 swipes, 19 ahead of runner-up Ethan Chapman. His 42 steals in the 2014 Midwest League tied Aaron Barbosa for 5th in the loop.

Following his baseball career, Holland attended the University of Arizona and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in 2019. He also walked-on to the university's football team and eventually won a starting position as a defensive back. At Arizona, Holland was teammates with Donavan Tate who was the #3 draftee by the San Diego Padres in 2009.

After graduation, Holland returned to baseball as a player development assistant for the Baltimore Orioles in 2020.
