Biographical Information[edit]

Centerfielder Aaron Barbosa began his professional career in 2013.

In 2012, Barbosa set Northeastern University school records for hits (76) and steals (29) in a season; his 69 career steals were a school record as well. He was signed as an undrafted free agent in July 2013 by the Seattle Mariners; the scout was Brian Nichols. He hit .356/.455/.416 with 19 stolen bases in 30 games for the Pulaski Mariners that year and followed that with a .282/.385/.317 line and 52 steals between the Clinton LumberKings and High Desert Mavericks in 2014. He began 2015 with Clinton and also played for the Bakersfield Blaze that year, stealing 36 bases in 120 games. He played for both Clinton and Bakersfield in 2016, his final season in the minors.
