Biographical Information[edit]
Luis Pacheco pitched in the minors and for the Venezuelan national team.
He was signed by Philadelphia Phillies scout Jesús Méndez in October 2016. [1] He allowed two runs in seven innings for the 2017 DSL Phillies White then had a 5-3, 2.00 record for them in 2018. Coming stateside, he went 2-1 with a 4.45 ERA for the GCL Phillies West.
Pacheco next surfaced in 2022 with the Empire State Greys, going 0-6 with a 7.71 ERA. He pitched that winter for the Águilas del Zulia, going 1-0 with a 2.20 ERA in 15 games. With Venezuela for the 2023 Pan American Games, he debuted against Brazil. Closing out a 3-1 loss, he relieved Nivaldo Rodríguez and retired Lucas Rojo and Gabriel Do Carmo. He allowed one run in 1 2/3 IP for the Games. He and Sergio Velis were the only Venezuelan hurlers to appear in three of their four games. [2]
