Biographical Information[edit]

Lucas Traut has pitched for the German national team.

In 2021, he was 5-1 with a 2.59 ERA for the Baldham Boars in the German minors and also played 2B, SS, 3B and CF, hitting .304/.391/.446. He was among the Bundesliga-2 southeast leaders in wins (tied for 4th), ERA (4th), K (38, 10th), runs scored (tied for 6th) and steals (12, 9th). [1] He was one of two Boars players in the 2021 European Championship, joining Brian Fürböck of Austria. He was not the first German minor leaguer to be picked for the German national team; Samuel Steigert had been with Germany in 2019. He had a rough time of it in his lone outing, allowing nine runs in one inning but all were unearned. Relieving Steigert in the 7th with a 6-1 deficit versus Spain, Leomartires Rodríguez reached on an error then Engel Beltre grounded out. Edison Valerio singled in one run and Oscar Angulo singled, then Jesús Ustariz drew a walk. Daniel Jiménez flew out. The next seven would all reach, though. Lesther Galván hit a two-run single, Gabriel Lino got plunked and Blake Ochoa walked. Rodríguez hit a grand slam, Beltre doubled and Valerio again had a RBI single. Pinch-hitter Edgar Rondon walked before Ustariz flew out to end it. The game ended after 7 due to the mercy rule. [2]

In the 2021 U-23 Baseball World Cup, he allowed 3 hits, 3 walks and 3 runs in one inning. [3]
