Biographical Information[edit]
Lucas Dickman has been on the German national team.
Dickman played in the 2013 European Junior Championship, going 1-0 with one shutout inning, getting the win over France. He was 1 for 6 with a walk at the plate and made one error afield. He made his Bundesliga-1 debut with the 2014 Mainz Athletics, hitting .233/.356/.300 and fielding .914 as their primary 2B (with one G at SS and3 at P). On the mound, he had a 3.60 ERA and fanned 15 in 10 innings but walked 10 as well. He participated in the MLB European Elite Camp that year.
Lucas moved to the Regensburg Legionäre for 2015 and was used solely as a pitcher. He went 3-1 with two saves and a 4.97 ERA, striking out 43 in 41 2/3 IP. He tied for 4th in the southern Bundesliga-1 in saves. He played for Team Europe in the Asian Winter League. In the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers in March 2016, he was on the German senior national team for the first time but was one of three pitchers they did not use (Lukas Steinlein and Sascha Koch were the others). He was the team's second-youngest hurler; Koch was only 18.
