Little Rock Central High School
(Redirected from Little Rock High School)
Central High School in Little Rock, AR was the site of a major event in civil rights history in 1957 when President Dwight Eisenhower ordered the National Guard to ensure the integration of the school, after nine black students had been denied attendance by a mob. The President also took over the Arkansas National Guard, in retaliation for the Governor Orval Faubus's refusal to obey the Brown vs. Topeka Board of Education Supreme Court decision. The school building was designated a historic place in 1982.
