Biographical Information[edit]

Lin-Lien Wu played in the CPBL for 8 years.

Wu was signed by the Uni-President Lions when the CPBL was founded in 1990, and he hit .277/.355/.313 in 49 games. He then slumped to .122/.182/.122 in 1991, and he was 0-for-2 in the 1991 Taiwan Series while scoring three as the main pinch-runner of the Lions. Wu won his first title as the Lions beat the Wei Chuan Dragons in 7 games. Wu then hit .160/.343/.226 in 1992, and his batting line was .207/.303/.293 in 1993. On July 9, 1993, he crushed a grand slam against Kuang-Hung Lin, and that was the only homer in his career. He drove in the game-winning run of the 1993 Taiwan Series Game 5 in the 6th inning against Kuang-Chi Huang, and he was 2-for-6 in the whole series. The Lions were beaten by the Brother Elephants in 6 games. Due to his poor batting, he was used as pinch-runner and defense replacement in the rest of his career. He played 208 games combined in the next three seasons, but he only got 48 at-bats and scored 49 runs. The Lions released Wu in 1997, and his professional career ended.

Overall, Wu had hit .199/.316/.256 with 67 hits and 98 run scored in 7 seasons in the CPBL.
