Biographical Information[edit]
Leslie Cabiling was on the Philippines national team in the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers; at age 21, he was their second-youngest player (only Juan Paulo Macasaet was younger). He pitched in their opener against host Australia. Down 4-1 in the bottom of the 7th, he relieved Vladimir Eguia with one on and no outs. He retired Allan de San Miguel but then Logan Wade doubled, Trent D'Antonio walked, James Beresford singled, Brad Harman hit a sacrifice fly, Mitch Dening singled, Stefan Welch doubled, Luke Hughes got hit and David Kandilas walked. Ernesto Binarao relieved but let both inherited runs score on an error. He thus finished the day with a 54.00 ERA.
