Biographical Information[edit]
Len Johnston played 16 years in the minors and managed for 9. He spent parts of nine seasons at the AAA level as a player. He led his league in stolen bases 6 years in a row (1953-1958), stealing 385 for his career. He also led the 1953 Western League in runs and the 1956 International League in hits.
In addition to managing in the minors, Johnston coached the Buffalo Bisons in 1969 and has been a coach for the Bluefield Orioles since 1979.
Johnston's grandson, Zach Johnston, was named head coach at Concordia University Ann Arbor for 2015 [1].
