Biographical Information[edit]
Larry Cochell was a longtime baseball coach at the University of Oklahoma (1991-2005). He led the team to the 1994 College World Series title but resigned in May 2005 after making racially insensitive comments in an off-camera interview with ESPN. Cochell was also the head coach at Kansas State Teachers College (1967-1969), Creighton University (1970-1971), California State University, Los Angeles (1972-1976), Oral Roberts University (1977-1986), Northwestern University (1987), and California State University, Fullerton (1988-1990).
Cochell was the first coach to take three teams to the College World Series (ORU in 1978, Fullerton in 1988 & 1990, Oklahoma in 1992).
