Biographical Information[edit]

Kody Hightower has played baseball in the USA, Germany, Switzerland, Australia and the Netherlands.

Hightower was 5 for 39 with a double and walk for the 2008 Midwest Sliders and made 7 errors in 11 games at shortstop, fielding .865. In 2009, he was a fine two-way threat for the HSV Stealers. He batted .301/.365/.495 with 21 RBI in 24 games as a SS-P and went 2-2 with a 2.42 ERA. He was among the northern Bundesliga-1 leaders in home runs (2, tied for 5th), doubles (6, tied for 8th), triples (3, 2nd), slugging (9th), assists (97, 1st, 28 more than Lennart Weller), ERA (5th), strikeouts (33, 9th), WHIP (1.05, 3rd) and lowest opponent slugging (.192, 1st by .009 over former Cuban leaguer Enorbel Marquez).

Kody played for the Zurich Barracudas in 2011 and dominated Switzerland's Ligue Nationale A. He hit .516/.623/1.043 with 22 doubles, 37 runs, 40 RBI and 13 steals (in 14 tries) in 93 at-bats over 27 games; he also was 7-6 on the mound. He led the Ligue Nationale A in average, hits, extra-base hits, doubles and total bases, was second in runs and third in RBI. His next stop was the Australian Baseball League's Canberra Cavalry in 2011-2012. He didn't miss a beat against the tougher competition, producing at a .361/.455/.615 clip with 26 runs, 25 RBI, 11 doubles and 6 home runs in 34 games. He was third in the 2011-2012 Australian Baseball League in average, tied for 8th in doubles (11), tied for 9th in walks (19), 4th in slugging (between Elliot Biddle and Tim Kennelly), 3rd in OBP (between Justin Huber and Kennelly) and 3rd in OPS (between Brad Harman and Kennelly), posting numbers similar to former major leaguers Harman and Huber.
