Biographical Information

Kiril Chermoshentsev has pitched for the Russian national team. He presumably is related to Nikol Chermoshentsev but confirming information has not been found by this writer.

Chermoshentsev played for Moscow in the 2001 Little League World Series and 2002 Little League World Series. He was 0-1 in the 2011 European Cup, losing to Fortitudo Bologna (9.00 ERA); he was 1 for 5 with a walk. In the 2013 B-Level European Championship, he only lasted two innings against Slovakia (6 H, 4 R) but Russia rallied to win. He then took the loss in relief versus Belarus. He had Russia's only loss in the event and their highest ERA.

He split first base with Sergey Solovev in the 2014 European Championship and also played second and DH. He hit .267/.313/.333 and played error-free defense. He was a part-time first baseman for Russia in the 2016 European Championship, going 1 for 9 with two walks; his lone hit was a double off indy league veteran Jonathan Kountis. He pitched briefly, switching positions with Denis Leonov in the 5th against Croatia with two outs and a 4-0 deficit. He struggled as RJ Vukovich drew a full-count walk, Mario Manojlov singled and Franko Vrlić Kovačić singled with an error making it 6-0. Nikola Sertić doubled in another run and Nikolay Markov relieved and let the inherited runner in. He tied Angelos Argyropoulos for the event's highest ERA.

For the 2019 B-Level European Championship, Russia was reinforced with several Cuban players who had gotten Russian passports but Chermoshentsev kept his spot on the team. He backed up Yunior Valiente at third base, going 2 for 7 with 4 walks, 5 runs and 4 RBI. In the finale, he replaced Alexander Vasiliev at first base late in a 5-3 loss to Israel and did not bat.
