Biographical Information[edit]

Kevin Reyes has been on the Honduran national team.

Reyes hit .429/.552/.762 with 7 walks, 9 runs and 7 RBI in 7 games in the 2012 U-15 Baseball World Cup and went 3-0 with a 5.06 ERA, beating Lithuania (and Marius Balandis), Italy (and Alessandro Ciarla) and Aruba (and Kaenu Bergen). He tied for 6th in the event in triples (3) and tied for 8th in walks while ranking second on Honduras in OPS. He also tied Ting-Chin Chueh for the most wins in the tourney and tied for 9th with 15 K on the hill; only Muhammad Fauzan pitched more innings than his 16. [1] In the 2017 Central American Games, he was 2 for 14 with a run. He struggled on the hill in a loss to Guillermo Valdez and Guatemala (8 H, 8 R, 7 ER, 1 BB, 5 K in 3 2/3 IP) but pitched solid relief against El Salvador (0 R in 4 2/3 IP; 4 H, 3 BB, 4 K). [2]

In the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games Central American Qualifier, he was excellent at 9-for-17 with 3 walks, a steal, six runs and three RBI in five games though he fielded .818 in center. In the title game loss to host Nicaragua, he was a bright spot, reaching in 3 of 4 appearances. He tied MLB vet Cheslor Cuthbert for 5th in the tourney in runs, tied MVP Lombardo Padilla for the most hits, was second in average (.004 behind Isaac Benard), was 3rd in OBP (after Juan Montes and Benard) and was 3rd in OPS (after Benard and Montes). He was named to the tournament All-Star team in the outfield, joining Benard and Sandy Bermúdez. Another Reyes, Nicaragua's Elmer Reyes, also made the squad. [3]

He also played for Honduras in the 2023 Pan American Games Qualifier, but struggled, going 0 for 9 with a walk, steal and sac fly for a RBI. He had 8 putouts and no errors in center. His lone time on base was a walk from Argentina's Kevin Riello. [4]
