Biographical Information[edit]

The son of Chris Cron, first baseman Kevin Cron was picked in the third round of the 2011 amateur draft by the Seattle Mariners. At Mountain Pointe High School, he set school records for homers in a season (27) and career (53). Despite that, he was not the first member of his family picked in the 2011 draft: brother C.J. was a first-rounder out of college. Kevin was Seattle's third pick, following All-Americans Danny Hultzen and Brad Miller. He opted to attend TCU instead of signing. Cron was drafted again, this time by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 14th round of the 2014 amateur draft. After signing, he made his pro debut with the Missoula Osprey. He made his major league debut with the Diamondbacks on May 24, 2019. He hit his first homer on June 7th, a three-run shot off Marcus Stroman in an 8-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. In 39 games, Cron batted .211/.269/.521 with six home runs.
