Biographical Information[edit]
Jun-tae Park played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 10 years.
Park played for the South Korean national team in the 1986 Amateur World Series and 1987 Asian Championship. The Pacific Dolphins selected him in the first round of the 1989 KBO draft, and he hit .231/.317/.385 in 34 games in his first season. He only played one game with the big club in 1990, and he hit .230/.324/.342 in 72 games in 1991. The Dolphins then traded him to the LG Twins for Deok-kyu Yun after he played 58 games with a .228/.285/.409 batting line, and Park had a .242/.251/.309 batting line for the Twins in 1992. Park crushed 8 homers with 28 steals and a .267/.356/.424 batting line in 1993, and he was 4th in steals (between Soon-chul Lee and Jong-heon Kim).
The Hampyeong native hit .274/.343/.366 in 1994, but he slumped to .208/.264/.254 in 1995. Park mainly stayed in the minors in 1996, and he was 1-for-14 with the big club. He crushed 3 homers with a .221/.279/.312 batting line in 1997, but he only got 29 appearances in 1998 then he announced his retirement. He later coached Duksoo High School from 2000 to 2001, Baemyung High School from 2003 to 2009 and Gangneung High School from 2010 to 2011. He was also the minor league baserunning coach of the Twins from 2012 to 2014.
Overall, Park hit .244/.322/.357 with 395 hits and 23 homers in 10 seasons in the KBO.
