Biographical Information[edit]

Julio Hernández has played for the Aruban national team and in the Hoofdklasse.

In the 2008 Americas Baseball Cup, he hit .269/.387/.308 with six runs and five walks in eight games, going 3-for-3 in steal attempts. He also pitched twice, allowing eight hits, a walk and eight runs (five earned) in 2 1/3 IP, striking out one. He lost to Panama and Answar Samudio. He was among the tourney leaders in walks (tied for 5th with Michael Sandoval, Earl Agnoly and Joshua Ramada), steals (tied Cristian Presichi for first) and steal rate (1st). [1] In the 2010 Pan American Games Qualifier, he hit .267/.353/.467, second to Kenny Hart on Aruba in slugging. [2]

Julio played for Kinheim in the 2016 Hoofdklasse, producing at a .314/.395/.378 clip with 24 RBI in 37 games. He handled 39 putouts and two assists without an error and allowed two runs in one inning. He tied Gianison Boekhoudt and Quintin de Cuba for 8th in hits (44) and tied Dudley Leonora for third in sacrifice hits (6). He was third on his team in average behind Sander Paap and Leonora.
