Julia Morales
Julia Morales Clark
- Born April 12, 1985 in Crandall, TX USA
Biographical Information[edit]
Julia Morales was a sports anchor for KYTX-TV in Tyler, TX and Time Warner Cable News. In 2013, she became a reporter and anchor for AT&T SportsNet (renamed Space City Home Network in 2023), covering the Houston Astros with the role of in-game reporter with a spot on the field near the team's dugout.
On May 13, 2024, she switched roles with main play-by-play announcer Todd Kalas to be the lead announcer in an Astros game against the Oakland Athletics. The A's had recently appointed Jenny Cavnar as their main play-by-play announcer, so the game marked the first time in MLB history that both teams' lead television announcers were women. The two had been friends for many years and had supported each other in making their way in a career field largely dominated by men. Morales had previously replaced analyst Geoff Blum on a couple of occasions the previous year.
Her husband Matt Clark and father-in-law Terry Clark both played in the majors. She also works on broadcasts of the NBA's Houston Rockets during the off-season.
