Biographical Information[edit]
Todd Kalas has been a Houston Astros television play-by-play broadcaster since 2017. He works in a team with analyst Geoff Blum and field reporter Julia Morales.
Prior to joining the Astros, Kalas worked in the same capacity for the first 19 seasons of the Tampa Bay Rays' existence, including their early days as the "Devil Rays". Earlier in his broadcasting career, he honed his craft in various similar capacities with the Triple-A Louisville Redbirds, the New York Mets (two years), and the Philadelphia Phillies (three years). He laso worked on a number of other sports during the off-season, including college football, hockey and basketball.
His father, Harry Kalas, was a longtime Philadelphia Phillies broadcaster.
Kalas resides in Houston, Texas, with his wife Michele Allen.
