Pitcher Juan Rodriguez has spent several years in the minors.

He was signed by scout Pablo Lantigua of the Boston Red Sox in early 2008. With the 2008 DSL Red Sox, he was 2-1 with a 3.03 ERA; he allowed only a .140 average but walked 27 in 29 2/3 IP. He made very good strides in the next year, going 3-1 with a save and a 1.55 ERA for the DSL Red Sox. He walked 30 and fanned 78 in 63 2/3 IP while allowing 37 hits (a .172 average) and no homers. He was 10th in the Dominican Summer League in strikeouts, 12th in ERA and third in opponent average. He was named the Red Sox Latin Program Pitcher of the Year.

Coming to the U.S. in 2010, he went 5-1 with a 3.51 ERA for the GCL Red Sox that year and led the club with 51 strikeouts in 48 2/3 innings. His control continuing to improve, he walked only 13. He began 2011 with the Greenville Drive, going 2-4 with a 5.19 ERA. He whiffed 88 in 59 innings but walked 32. At the trading deadline, he was sent to the Seattle Mariners (with Chih-Hsien Chiang, Tim Federowicz and Stephen Fife in return for Erik Bedard and Josh Fields), who in turn dealt him to the Los Angeles Dodgers the same day with Fife and Federowicz for Trayvon Robinson. After the deal, he did well with the Great Lakes Loons (1-1, Sv, 1.59, .105 opponent average, 10 BB, 20 K in 17 IP).

He began 2012 with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and 2-1 with a 2.89 ERA, 10 walks and 15 whiffs in his first 9 1/3 innings.
