Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Josh Wolf was selected in the 2nd round of the 2019 amateur draft by the New York Mets out of a high school in Houston, TX. He began his professional career that year with the GCL Mets, going 0-1, 3.38 in 5 starts, and pitching just 8 innings. He was then inactive all of 2020 as the minor leagues were shut down by the Coronavirus pandemic. He was thus still an extremely raw prospect when on January 7, 2021, he was one of four young players sent by the Mets to the Cleveland Indians in return for two front-line major leaguers, SS Francisco Lindor and P Carlos Carrasco. Also part of the deal were two infielders already established at the major league level in Amed Rosario and Andres Gimenez, and another prospect just beginning his professional journey in OF Isaiah Greene.
