Biographical Information[edit]
Josh Hendricks has played in the minors and for the South African national team.
He was signed by Minnesota Twins scout Howard Norsetter. [1] He was only 4 for 44 with a double, run, two RBI and 17 strikeouts for the 2010 GCL Twins. In the 2010-2011 Australian Baseball League, he was 3 for 16 for the Melbourne Aces. He returned to the GCL Twins in 2011 and improved his batting line to .275/.316/.350 while fielding .995 at first base.
In the 2011-2012 ABL, he was 2 for 17 with two walks and two runs for Melbourne. He batted .222/.292/.333 for the Elizabethton Twins to end his time in the Twins chain. Hendricks produced at a .239/.299/.310 clip for the 2012-2013 Aces as a backup 1B/LF. He did not play the next winter then hit .224/.267/.341 in 2014-2015.
Josh resurfaced with the South African squad in the 2022 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. Hitting fifth and playing first in their opener, he struck out his first time up, against Ronald Medrano, and was 0 for 3 when Brandon Bouillon batted for him. In their other contest, he came in late against Germany and doubled off Sascha Koch his lone time up, driving in Benjamin Smith. [2]
