Biographical Information

Jordan Procyshen has played in the minors and for the Canadian national team.

He was with Canada for their 2011 junior national team tour of Cuba. He hit .418 with 15 homers as a sophomore, tying for the national junior college lead. Transferring to Northern Kentucky, he smacked 10 homers as a junior and batted .276/.342/.488. The Boston Red Sox took him in the 14th round of the 2014 amateur draft, one round after Chandler Shepherd. The scout was John Pyle.

Making his pro debut with the Lowell Spinners, he hit .259/.339/.315 in 19 games then moved up to the Greenville Drive (.300/.364/.433 in 9 G). In 2015, he was with both Greenville (.285/.356/.383 in 51 G) and the Salem Red Sox (.209/.309/.248 in 38 G), throwing out 33% of would-be base-stealers. Baseball America named him the best defensive catcher in the South Atlantic League. With the 2016 Salem club, he hit .249/.302/.376 and gunned down 43%. Promoted to the Portland Sea Dogs for 2017, his batting slipped (.200/.295/.298) though he still threw out 39%. In 2018, he played for both Portland (1 for 8) and Salem (.226/.316/.278 in 39 G).

Moving on to the Los Angeles Dodgers organization for 2019, he hit .262/.277/.672 with 6 homers and 18 RBI in 16 games for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes but .165/.224/.266 in 22 games for the Tulsa Drillers. He took a break to play for Canada in the 2019 Pan American Games, a late replacement for Kellin Deglan. Starting at catcher for Canada, he hit .313/.353/.438 and no one tried to run on him. He had two doubles off Ezequiel Cufré. Hitting 7th in the Gold Medal Game, he went 1 for 4 in a 6-1 loss to Puerto Rico as Canada settled for Silver.
