Biographical Information[edit]

Shortstop John McCurdy was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the first round of the 2002 amateur draft and made his pro debut with the Vancouver Canadians, hitting .242 in 56 games. He played with the Kane County Cougars the following year and hit .274 with 22 stolen bases. After splitting 2004 with the Modesto A's, and the Midland Rockhounds, he played for the Stockton Ports in 2005, hitting .252 with 8 home runs. He was back with Stockton the next year and hit .271 with 12 homers and 55 RBI but was released by Oakland after the season.
