Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Joe Hall played briefly in three major league seasons between 1994 and 1997, for a total of 26 games. He hit one home run in his career. It came on April 12, 1994 as a member of the Chicago White Sox against the New York Yankees. The pitcher was Scott Kamieniecki. His other major league stints were with the Detroit Tigers in 1995 and 1997. He hit .319 in his brief time in the majors. His professional career lasted from 1988 to 1999 and included stops in the Chinese Professional Baseball League and in the Mexican League, in 1997 and 1998 respectively.

He was originally drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 10th round of the 1988 amateur draft out of Southern Illinois University, then was traded to the White Sox for minor leaguer Willie Magallanes just as the 1991 season was getting under way. He spent that year in AAA with the Vancouver Canadians of the Pacific Coast League. He spent part of 7 seasons in AAA, not including his year in the Mexican League. He signed with the Tigers as a free agent after the 1994 season, and also spent a year in the Baltimore Orioles system between his two stints with the Tigers.

Hall played all nine positions for the Caribes de Anzoategui in 1991; he was the only player in franchise history to turn the feat until Tomas Perez did it in 2014 in the final game of a 24-year career. After his playing career, he became a minor league coach and manager.
