Biographical Information[edit]

Joe Bochy was picked by the Minnesota Twins in the 22nd round of the 1969 amateur draft. The brother of Bruce Bochy and uncle of Greg Bochy and Brett Bochy, Joe was 2 for 18 with six strikeouts, a walk, steal and run in 10 games, 8 at catcher. Three years later, he was a pitcher and went 1-0 with two saves and a 12.18 ERA for the Melbourne Twins, walking 26 in 17 IP and allowing 26 hits, while striking out 17. He was somewhat better with the Orlando Twins that year, with a win and save and a 5.79 ERA. He had five wild pitches and 18 walks in 14 innings for Orlando, striking out 13 and allowing 10 hits.

Joe became a San Diego Padres scout later and was the organization's Scout of the Year in 2005. He signed Cesar Carrillo, Corey Kluber and Mat Latos.
