The first Melbourne Twins played in the 1964 Cocoa Rookie League. The team finished first in the four team league with a record of 34-18. The team was managed by Fred Waters. Jim Bachus led the league with 44 runs, Gerald Lyscio led the league with 7 wins, and tied for the lead with 2 HRs. Claude Melton led the league with 63 Ks and a 1.22 ERA.
