Biographical Information[edit]

Jim Czajkowski came to the majors for five games with the Colorado Rockies in 1994. His ERA was excellent, given the context - Jim's ERA was 4.15 while the team's ERA that year was 5.15. However, his WHIP at 1.731 was above the team's WHIP of 1.584. He was thirty years old at the time, the same age as teammates Dante Bichette, Walt Weiss and Nelson Liriano.

Jim was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 29th round of the 1986 amateur draft and played professionally through 1997. He had 122 saves in the minors.

Czajkowski was scheduled to be pitching coach of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to Covid-19.

He is the only major leaguer (through 2019) whose last name starts "Cz". He was at the University of North Alabama at the same time as Ced Landrum.
