Jesús Martínez pitched two seasons in the minor leagues.
Martínez was 4-0 with 3 saves and a 2.00 ERA for the 2006 VSL Pirates, with a .212 average. With the same club in '07, he fell to 2-1 with two saves, a 5.03 ERA and .317 opponent average. He walked only four in 34 innings. He pitched for the Venezuelan national team in the 2005 South American Championship (Silver), 2009 Bolivarian Games (winning Silver), 2010 South American Games (they won Gold), 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games and 2010 Pan American Games Qualification Tournament (getting a win over Nicaragua.
