Biographical Information[edit]
Jerome Yenson played for the Philippines national team.
In the 2017 Asian Championship, he was 0 for 7 with a walk and a steal, handling two putouts. The outfielder also pitched briefly, working 2/3 of an inning and allowing five hits, a walk and six runs (four earned) for the team's highest ERA; Juan Lozano was next at 32.40. [1] He had 3 hits, including a big three-run double off Nanda Dwi Saputra, in a 5-2 win over Indonesia, in the 2018 East Asian Baseball Cup (the Philippines won). [2]
Yenson was 1 for 10 in the 2019 Asian Championship without a walk or extra-base hit but managed two runs and three RBI; he started in LF for the Philippines. [3] He then won Gold with them in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, with a big two-run double in the 2nd inning against Thailand to score Mark Manaig and Ferdinand Liguayan Jr. [4] He died less than two years later at age 24. [5]
