Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Jason Verdugo attended Arizona State University, where he also played football. He was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 12th round of the 1997 amateur draft and played four years in their organization, reaching the AAA level. He returned to the field briefly with the St. Paul Saints of the Northern League in 2004, going 5-5 in 17 appearances with four complete games as his club captured the league title.
Verdugo was the head coach at McClintock High School in 2000 and Hamline University from 2002-2012. He then became athletic director at Hamline.
In 2008 he was manager of the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League. Verdugo also spent four seasons as pitching coach of the St. Paul Saints.
