Biographical Information[edit]

The son of Carney Lansford, pitcher Jared Lansford was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the second round of the 2005 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Scott Kidd for $525,000 and and made his pro debut that summer with the AZL Athletics, going 0-1 with a 1.27 ERA in 7 games. The next summer he went 11-6 with a 2.86 ERA in 18 starts for the Kane County Cougars and also made three appearances for the Stockton Ports. He played in just one game in 2007, going 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA in 4 innings with the Ports. He began 2008 back with Stockton.

In addition to his father, Lansford has several other relatives who have played pro ball. His brother Josh Lansford played in the Chicago Cubs organization, his uncle Jody Lansford played in the majors, and another uncle, Phil Lansford, also played minor league ball.
