Biographical Information[edit]
Nicknamed "Pee Wee", Janet Wiley was a bat girl for the South Bend Blue Sox before playing four years in the AAGPBL, mostly for South Bend. She debuted in 1950, hitting .289/~.322/.361 between the Springfield Sallies and Chicago Colleens and .134/~.229/.165 for South Bend. In 1951, she split first base for South Bend with Dorothy Mueller, hitting .221/~.284/.249. She was 0 for 7 in the postseason as South Bend won it all. She played under 10 games in 1952. In 1953, she moved to the Rockford Peaches and batted .206/~.229/.216 as the backup 1B behind Dottie Kamenshek. Wiley hit .221/~.280/.245 in 147 career games, with 31 runs and 25 RBI.
