Biographical Information[edit]

James Selefen was a regular for the New Caledonia national team.

He went 4 for 12 with four runs and a RBI in the 2003 South Pacific Games; the teenager was third on the team in runs behind Matthieu Martel and Jérôme Dangio. [1] In the 2005 South Pacific Mini-Games, his five runs tied B.J. Balajadia, Kingston Anson and O'Ranli Ise for the tournament lead. [2] He won Silver with New Caledonia in the 2007 South Pacific Games. [3]

Selefen began playing in the French minors in 2010. [4] In the 2011 Pacific Games, he was New Caledonia's center fielder and leadoff man. He hit .238/.333/.381 with four runs, two RBI and two steals in six games, fielding .917. Against the champion Northern Mariana Islands, he fell a homer shy of the cycle. He was hit by two pitches in the event, one behind leader Rodrick Blanco. [5] He made it to the French Division I in 2014, batting .225/.289/.400 with 3 triples in 40 at-bats for the Chevaliers de Beaucaire. [6] He tied Florian Peyrichou for 6th in the league in triples despite his limited action. [7]
