Biographical Information[edit]

Jae-hun Chung has saved over 100 games in the Korea Baseball Organization.

Chung went 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA in the 2002 World University Championship. He was drafted by the Doosan Bears and debuted in the KBO in 2003. He was 0-1 with four runs in 3 1/3 innings. The right-hander went 3-1 with a 3.14 ERA in 2004. For the 2005 Bears, Chung had a 1-6 record with 30 saves and a 2.09 ERA. He led the KBO in games saved.

Chung pitched one game in the 2006 World Baseball Classic, facing China. He relieved Tae-hyun Chong to pitch the 8th inning. He surrendered a leadoff homer to Shuo Yang then walked Yi Feng. Lingfeng Sun was retired on a force and Chung whiffed Guangbiao Liu. Chung walked Guogang Yang on four straight pitches but fanned Yufeng Zhang to end the inning. Seung-hwan Oh relieved Chung in the 9th.

Jae-hun had a great season in 2006, going 2-3 with 38 saves and a 1.33 ERA. He allowed 33 hits in 54 innings and fanned 65 but walked 32. He tied for second in the league in saves, trailing Oh by seven. In 2007, Chung had a 5-3, 2.44 record with 25 saves.

The right-hander was 3-3 with 18 saves and a 3.23 ERA in 2008. Chung was moved into the rotation in 2009 and struggled in the first half.
