Biographical Information[edit]

Jackson Solarte has pitched in the minors and for the Colombian national team.

Solarte spent three seasons in the St. Louis Cardinals chain with the VSL Cardinals. He was 1-0 with a 13.00 ERA in 7 games in 2008, allowing 17 hits in 9 innings. In 2009, he improved to 1-2 with two saves and a 4.44 ERA in 16 outings. He fell to 1-2, 7.24 in 7 games in 2010. He finished his minor league career at 3-4, 2 Sv, 6.80 in 30 games. In 49 innings, he allowed 62 hits and 29 walks while striking out 28.

The right-hander later pitched for the Toros de Sincelejo in the Colombian Winter League. Like other Venezuelans active in that loop, he appeared for Colombia in the 2017 Bolivarian Games. They won Gold, their first Gold in a Bolivarian Games since 1973, two spots ahead of his native Venezuelans. He pitched one game, closing out a 7-2 opening win over El Salvador with one shutout inning (1 H, 1 K), relieving Kendy Batista.
