Biographical Information[edit]

Jack Weinberger has pitched in the independent leagues and for the Israeli national team.

He participated in baseball and ski racing in high school. [1] He was 0-3 with a 11.50 ERA in 2016 and 0-2 with 3 saves and a 4.11 ERA as a college junior in 2017. In 2018, he was 1-1 with two saves and a 2.78 ERA. He then left baseball to teach middle school physical education. [2]

Weinberger was back on the hill by 2021, pitching for the New Jersey Jackals (6-2, 4.81 in 30 G) and the West Virginia Power/Charleston Dirty Birds (2 R, 1 ER in 8 1/3 IP). He was 2-5 with four saves and a 4.30 ERA for the 2022 Kentucky Wild Health Genomes; his 46 appearances led the staff. He was then one of 18 pitchers used by Israel in the 2023 World Baseball Classic, but it was a rocky experience. He replaced Daniel Federman with a 9-0 deficit in the 8th against Puerto Rico. He walked Martin Maldonado, hit Edwin Díaz and then gave up an Enrique Hernandez single that ended the game at 10-0 due to the mercy rule. [3]
