Iowa State University sponsored baseball from 1892 to 2001. The school competed in the Big Eight Conference and its forerunners from 1908 until 1996, and the Big 12 Conference from 1997 until dropping baseball. The last player from the school to debut in the major leagues was Jeff Duncan, who debuted in 2003; the last to play in the major leagues was Mike Myers, whose final season was 2007.
