Biographical Information[edit]

Hugh Yancy played in 7 games in 3 different seasons for the Chicago White Sox, never appearing in consecutive seasons. He played 3 games in 1972, 1 game in 1974, and 3 games in 1976. He had 2 hits in 19 at bats, and did not commit an error in 3 games at third base and 3 games at second base. His first major league hit was against Mike Cuellar on July 6, 1972 and his second and final hit was a double on May 17, 1976 against Frank Tanana.

Hugh played 14 years in the minors, of which parts of seven years were at the AAA level. Mostly he was in the Chicago White Sox organization, but he also played in the New York Yankees, Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians organizations.
