Biographical Information

Horacio Estrada pitched in the majors from 1999 to 2001 and played pro ball until 2009. He played professionally for teams on four continents.

During the year 2000 he went 14-4 for the Indianapolis Indians.

He pitched several seasons in Mexico, and played pro ball in both Taiwan and Korea. For Korea's Hanwha Eagles, Estrada went 1-3 with a 4.71 ERA in 2003. He went 1-1 with a 3.52 ERA in 4 games for Taiwan's La New Bears in 2007.

He went 1-0 with a 3.77 ERA for Venezuela in qualifiers for the 2008 Olympics.

He joined T&A San Marino during the 2008 season and was 1-1 with a 1.54 ERA in the 2008 European Cup, struking out 16 in 11 2/3 IP; only Jason Kosow struck out more in the Grosseto Cup; Linc Mikkelsen fanned as many. He helped T&A San Marino finish third. He fanned 13 against Tornado Balashikha in beating another former big leaguer, Pat Ahearne. He then lost to Montepaschi Grosseto and Chris Cooper in his second outing. In the 2008 European Cup Final Four, Estrada allowed only one run and 3 hits in 7 innings in a win over host FC Barcelona. In the 2009 European Cup, Estrada beat Draci Brno in his lone outing, allowing one run in five innings while fanning seven.

Estrada became a pitching coach with the DSL Diamondbacks 2 in 2016-2017.
