Biographical information[edit]

Kosow set his college's record for strikeouts (194) and had a 2.70 ERA in his collegiate career. The Chicago Cubs took him in the 27th round of the 2004 amateur draft. He had a respectable pro debut with the AZL Cubs (0-1, 2 Sv, 2.70, 15 K in 13 1/3 IP) and Boise Hawks (Sv, 3.15 in 11 G). Unfortunately, his Organized Baseball career ended due to an arm injury that needed surgery.

In 2007, he came back with the Nashua Pride and was 2-5 with a 3.36 ERA in 23 outings, 9 of them starts. Kosow made his acting debut that year as well, appearing as Catfish Hunter in the ESPN miniseries The Bronx is Burning.

Kosow moved to France in 2008 to pitch for the Rouen Huskies. He registered a 18-strikeout effort in a victory over the Belgian Royal Greys in the 2008 European Cup. Despite only making the one appearance, he led the Grosseto Cup in strikeouts (2 ahead of Linc Mikkelsen and Horacio Estrada) and ERA (0.00 in 9 IP, tied with David Bergman). In the regular Division Elite season, he was 2-1 with a 3.16 ERA but struck out 42 in 25 2/3 IP.
