Biographical Information[edit]
Ho-Lam Andy Lo has played regularly for the Hong Kong national team.
Lo played in the 2013 East Asian Games as a teenager. [1] In the 2014 Asian Games, he was their DH and it .429/.556/.429 to lead Hong Kong in average and OBP while tying Kin-Chung Tsang for the most hits (3). [2] He had the best average in the 2015 East Asian Baseball Cup. [3] In the 2017 Asian Championship, he broke up Japan's perfect game bid in the 4th with a single off Keita Hirao and finished at .308/.353/.385 while starting in left for Hong Kong; he had 10 putouts and no errors. [4]
He drove in four in a win over Indonesia in the 2018 East Asian Baseball Cup; for the tournament, he hit .294/.429/.353 with 5 RBI in 4 games. [5] He continued to perform well in the 2018 World University Championship, getting one of two Hong Kong hits against the US, scoring their only run against Japan and driving in 3 in a win over Australia. He hit .412/.450/.529 with 4 runs in 6 games, finishing second on the team in average, and had 13 putouts. He even pitched an inning, though he allowed 3 runs. [6] To complete a busy year of tournaments, he played in the 2018 Asian Games. He got their only run against Taiwan. Starting in center field and batting 2nd, he hit .286/.421/.286 with four walks in five games while again playing error-free defense (9 PO, 1 A). He tied for third in the Games in walks, one behind Arsalan Jamashaid and Shoji Kitamura. [7]
