Biographical Information

Keita Hirao was a member of Honda in the industrial leagues when he made the Japanese national team for the 2017 Asian Championship. He pitched four innings, allowing two hits and no walks while fanning five and giving up no runs. Half the work came in the Gold Medal Game; he relieved Keita Watanabe in the 7th with a 6-1 lead over host Taiwan and allowed only one hit in two shutout innings, setting down three on Ks.
