Biographical Information[edit]
Hill Denson has won over 1,000 games as a college coach.
Denson coached for Callaway High School, Manhattan High School and Chamberlain-Hunt Military Academy. He was later assistant coach at Vanderbilt University and did promotions for the Nashville Sounds. He was head coach at the University of Southern Mississippi from 1984-1997, being named Metro Conference Coach of the Year twice and setting a school record with 42 wins in 1990. He coached Bill Selby and Kevin Young while there. Denson interviewed for the head job at University of Memphis in June 2000 before the job ultimately went to Dave Anderson.
Denson then became head coach of Belhaven University in 2001. He announced he would retire at the end of the 2019 season. His record to that point was 1,284-869-2. He took the team to the 2010 NAIA College World Series.
