Biographical Information[edit]
Heidi Watney has been a sports reporter. Originally from California, she has worked as a Boston Red Sox field reporter for the New England Sports Network then joined MLB Network in 2012 as a studio host and reporter.
She was part of an important first on July 20, 2021, when she was part of the first all-female broadcast team to work a major league game. The game was between the Orioles and Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field and joining her were Melanie Newman as the play-by-play announcer, Sarah Langs as the analyst, Alanna Rizzo as the on-field reporter, and Lauren Gardner as her co-host for the pre-game and post-game shows. The game was broadcast on YouTube and available nationwide as a result.
