Biographical Information[edit]

Harshika Priyadarshani Kahennalage was on the first Sri Lankan women's national team, at the 2023 Women's Baseball Asian Cup. She started their first game, versus Indonesia, but allowed 11 hits, 5 walks and 19 runs (14 earned) in 1 1/3 IP in a loss to Siti Aisyah Nadia Putri; Darshani Hemakanthi Wickramanayake Naketh Gedara relieved her as they switched positions (Kahennalage moving to short). Her first hit came off Sadia Bibi of Pakistan. She lost to Tak-Wing Hung of Hong Kong as well, yielding 16 runs (14 earned) in 7 innings of relief. Her 23.52 ERA and .472 opponent average were the highest of any qualifier in the opening round of the Cup. She also was 3rd in IP (8 1/3, behind Bibi and Reshma Shivaji Punekar), tied Nur Afrina Azman Ali for 3rd in K (8), led in losses, allowed the most hits (11 more than #2 Bibi) and gave up the most runs (13 more than Gedara). She hit .375/.444/.500 with two runs and two RBI in three games and handled four chances error-free. [1]
